Freeport Borough Spring Clean-Up

Freeport Borough’s Spring Clean-Up will be held on April 15 and April 18, 2025. This is your chance to dispose of unwanted items and help keep our community clean.

Important Regulations from Waste Management for Spring Clean-Up

To ensure a smooth and efficient cleanup, residents must adhere to the following unacceptable items list:

Unacceptable Items:

  • Liquids: All containers must be empty. No liquid paint (must be hardened with lids removed).
  • No paint filters
  • No building materials from remodeling or demolition
  • No hazardous waste
  • No vehicle parts, including batteries
  • No tires
  • No stones, rocks, dirt, concrete, or yard waste
  • No 55-gallon drums
  • No items that cannot be lifted by two men
  • No propane tanks
  • No motor oils or gasoline (Lawn equipment such as mowers, saws, and weed eaters must be emptied of fluids.)
  • No medical waste
  • No televisions

Special Disposal Requirements:

  • Carpets must be rolled, tied, and cut into 5-foot lengths.
  • Appliances containing Freon (air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, etc.) must have visual tags showing that Freon has been removed by a professional.
  • Appliance doors must be removed or securely tied shut.
  • No loose trash – all must be bagged or boxed and weigh no more than 45 pounds.
  • Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic.

All discarded items should be placed on the curb the day before your scheduled pick-up.
